What is Lopimune?

Lopimune Tablet is used for Hiv, Rocky mountain spotted fever, Bacterial infection of the eye, Urinary tract infection, Aids and other conditions. Lopimune Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Lopimune Tablet contains Lopinavir and Ritonavir as active ingredients.
Lopimune Tablet works by inhibiting the viral particles growth; preventing virus from multiplying inside the body;

What is Lopimune used for?

Lopimune Tablet use are a fixed dose combination treatment for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection in adults over and children over 6 months. Lopimune tablets are used in combination with other medications that have a different mechanism of action to the components in Lopimune, and are used to treat patients with HIV infection who have either already received treatment with other medications for HIV or as first line therapy for treatment-inexperienced patients.

Dosage

Lopimune Tablet dosagecan be taken with or without food and must be swallowed whole. Patients starting anti-HIV therapy for the first time should take four tablets daily either all at once or two tablets in the morning and two at night. Patients with prior antiretroviral treatment and anyone taking nevirapine, fosamprenavir, amprenavir, nelfinavir or efavirenz should take two Lopimune pills in the morning and two at night; a once daily regimen is not recommended for these patients. An increase in dosing up to three tablets twice a day may be recommend in patients demonstrating poor susceptibility to Lopimune. The safety of Lopimune use for patients with renal or hepatic impairments is still being researched.

Contraindications

Those with prior history of hypersensitivity to ritonavir or lopinavir should avoid taking Lopimune. Lopimune should not be taken with the following medications: methylergonovine, antemizole, triazolam, terfenadine, midazolam, dihydroergotamine, ergonovine, ergotamine, cisapride or pimozide.

Lopimune Tablet - Side-effects

Lopimune Tablet effect following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Lopimune Tablet. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
  • Inflammation of the pancreas
  • Excess of cholesterol
  • Dizzy or tired
  • Rash or itching
  • Back pain
  • Cachexia
  • Facial edema
  • Neck rigidity
  • Cerebral ischemia
  • Migraine
  • Lopimune Tablet may also cause side-effects not listed here.

Storage of Lopimune

You should store your Lopimune Tablet store below 30°C in a cool dry place.
